The room and hotel are delightful and everything you would expect from an historical hotel. Room large and opulent and breakfast plentiful and delicious. Evening meal was also delicious and not too overpriced. A few areas that could further improve the experience: 1. Install a lift for those who find the very narrow staircase difficult 2. Ensure walk up availability to the spa as there was no availability at all even though we stayed 4 nights 3. Change the children time in the pool as between 4:30 - 6:30 would seem to be the prime time and as such it was impossible to swim 4. Finally a snooker table and a hot tub would put the hotel on a par with similar properties we have previously frequented in the area Would return though as the staff very accommodating and a lot to see in the area.

Second visit to this particular hotel, convenient location for visiting Stratford upon Avon. Previously stayed in a barn room which was spacious & quiet, this time stayed in the cosy double in the main hotel. The room was small & quirky but big enough for a short stay for two, however the room can be quite noisy with a close proximity to the kitchen & stairwell to the other rooms. We visited the spa during our stay for a treatment & cream tea which was very enjoyable.

Not the first time. My fav Hotel and SPA in England. Standards are very high and the price is still reasonable. The atmosphere is magical as always. Breakfast is great. I wish I could spend more nights. The location is perfect to visit north of Stratford-upon-Avon and north of Cotswold.

We loved our stay at Billesley Manor. All of the staff were brilliant, but Jack and Jack in the dining room were great. They were funny, personable and attentive. A great role model for young people. Just a small criticism is that the tea, coffee and milk was not replenished and the bed wasn't made for our second night, which you would expect in a 4* hotel. Food was fantastic, it was just a shame it seemed there was only the option of sitting at a table with the A La Carte menu , and the bar/lounge menu was only an option on the small tables/on your lap. We possibly could have asked to be shown the bar menu in there, but it wasnt offered to us. I can understand that it is the A La Carte restaurant for a reason, but maybe an area to eat the bar menu sat at a table would be a good idea. Overall feel of the hotel was wonderful, we could not fault it, and the grounds are also so well kept. A manor house stay with a modern twist. We would recommend.

Birthday treat
Two night stay in a junior suite, we loved the room. Very well equipped and had Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Spa was excellent, great treatments (quite expensive) lovely compact gym and pool. Just missing a jacuzzi! Had drinks and lunch in the bar/lounge was fine, good service from the bar man. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice and served till 1030am.Over all a great stay , great friendly staff a special mention to Edward the front of house porter/reception guy. A few minor details overlooked , no coffee or toilet restocked for the second day in room. Rock salt on the tables which is impossible to grind between fingers , no pepper. When I asked for S&P I was told this was it?! Strange, would definitely return and recommend. Hopefully my comments will help improve the finer details

Nice hotel & good Sunday lunch !
Hotel lovely and staff good and friendly. Our room which i upgraded to was looking a bit tired, lovely big room. But wallpaper coming away near headboard bed & marks on wall. Bathroom flooring tiles grout black in places. Breakfast on first morning chaotic ! 2nd morning much improved, although buffet style. Food at other times was superb.

Beautiful historic building with an abundance of character and charm. Looked a little tired in parts. We stayed in a feature room with four poster bed. We arrived later than planned at 23:20, although we had made the staff aware of this at the time of booking and on the day of arrival - whilst being shown to the room, my husband asked the barman (we had to pass the bar on route to the bedroom) if he could order a drink and the barman informed him that the bar had just closed! The bathroom was spacious although there were cobwebs around the window furnishings. It can happen in and old property, however, we also found a suit carrier in the wardrobe which had been left by a previous guest. There is a lot to like about the hotel and the lovely setting, however, the breakfast really does let this hotel down. The overall standard of catering was inadequate. The hot food wasn't hot and looked unappealing. Sadly, we failed to enjoy the 'dining indulgence' the hotel claims to offer. Little details such as pepper pots were nowhere to be seen. When we asked for pepper, the pot brought to us was empty. We then had to take this to the server and ask for another one. Odd cups that didn't match! General attention to detail, lack of visible leadership and disappointing breakfast - we brought this to the attention of the Reception staff upon check-out and then followed up with an email complaint and telephone call....no response to date, hence this review.
