"This place was awful. NO AIR CONDITIONING which is not mentioned anywhere on Expedia. Apparently, Expedia has that info but not listed anywhere. Would not have booked this place if I had known there was no air conditioning. No fans either and on top of that window was broken and couldn't be opened. Temp was close to 80 when I got there. Expedia was of no help finding me another room. Left within an hour of arriving. Temp next day was 102 degrees. Unacceptable at any price."

"A beautiful, unique and rare accommodation. This manor house has been in the same family for several hundred years and this same family still host and staff the house. "Nice quiet stay away from the hustle of downtown Comporta (~12 min drive). I enjoyed walking to nearby local coffee shop for my espresso and the Leonardo supermarket for some daily supplies. I’m a little on the taller side; so, had to watch my head when walking through the doors (not an issue if one is under 5’10”). Otherwise, having a/c here is a big plus and necessary given the strong summer alentejo sun."
