"One of our favorite cities and hotels on our Italian vacation. The cave room is beautiful, clean and quiet with modern details. The shower is awesome and heated towel bars were a plus. Breakfast is very nice and they have a bar that opens in the evenings at 5. All is very convenient to walking the sasso. They will arrange for a cab upon arrival or departure if you're taking a bus or train, so reach out as the walk from the main city piazza is far with luggage. Great restaurants nearby."

"We didn’t get the bottle of wine and we forgot to ask for it. However, the hotel, the room and location was stunning. Specially the people who work at the hotel, they were wonderful! "It is really a superb hotel. In Matera to be able to sleep in a room "cave" is quite special. The room #5 is large and had everything we needed except a big mirror. The only one was a small square one in the open bathroom above the lavabo and the lighthening was more romantic then useful there! I know it is not the same in every room as every room has a special design and decoration. The reception and the breakfast room are also beautiful. We loved the big terrasse where we could enjoy the sun...

"What a fantastic hotel right in the centre of matera. The rooms were wonderful and the staff very helpful. A word to drivers getting tit he hotel can be a little stressful as the roads are very narrow and confusing. The restricted zone signage is the worst but ignore it as the hotel sorts the issue out with local police. "

"A little dated but has a nice glass-enclosed dining area. Breakfast buffet has great variety. I would say it's more of a 3-star than a 4-star hotel but the location is excellent. A 4-star hotel should provide body lotion in the bathroom. The bar of soap was tiny."

"The Quarry Resort exceeded all our expectations. From the minute we parked our rental car at an offsite location we were quickly driven to the hotel. Porters took our luggage down cobblestone streets and stairs to the hotel. The location of the hotel is a wow moment. The setting amongst the Sassi is one of a kind.
