Beautiful home but not worth long stay
The overall look of the place was nice but when it came to live in it for a little over 2 weeks, we weren't too happy. Here are a couple reasons: 1. The listing said the washer/dryer is available. After confirmation, the host messages us saying that the washer and dryer will cost us per load which we felt was really expensive taking into account we have a toddler. We tried to negotiate with the host but he refused to reduce it. This caused a lot of inconvenience because we have a toddler who gets her limited clothes dirty quick. 2. WiFi is not great. Only strong when you are in the room. Once you enter the living room or kitchen area, you lose wifi and there is very bad reception. 3. Listing is for one of the 2 rooms in the basement. The description says it's good for a family which doesn't make sense if the host is willing to rent out the other room and have that person share a small kitchen, small living room and small bathroom. I don't understand how a family is supposed to be comfortable stuck in a small room with a queen bed. Husband had to sleep on the couch (very uncomfortable) which we had to borrow a cover from family just because nothing was provided by the host. 4. Residents upstairs would walk around above us around midnight and one time late in the night. This was very disturbing and kept waking my toddler up. 5. Kitchen has basic utensils. Not ideal for long term stay. Pots and pans looked old and I wasn't comfortable using them to cook with.
