"Higashiyama onsen is a lovely, narrow canyon on the outskirts of Aizuwakamatsu. The red and blue sightseeing buses stop within 150 yards of the hotel. The onsen baths are not too hot. The food is great. Our room was a regular one and was spacious. All in all it was a very nice place. "

"The hotel is situated up in the mountain and built right next to hill side. A great place to relax and just unwind closed to the nature. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We were at the hotel ahead of the check in time and they were eager to safekeep our luggage while we ventured out for some sightseeings. The dinner and breakfast were served to us in a private room. Not only was the quality of food top notched, the dedicated staff who was served us was the epitome of Japanese hospitality. Despite our lack of Japanese, she did her best (with the help of a electronic translator) to explain the courses and made us feel very pampered and comfortable. The property and decor does look a bit tired and dated. But the services were impeccable and that more than made up for the somewhat outdated hardware. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended."

"Considering we were just looking for a decent, affordable place to stay while spending most of our time at Ebisu Matsuri, this place exceeded expectations for the price, great value, good location, and very professional staff. "Had had a great stay in this beautiful hotel. One of our group members had left behind his bag in a remote restaurant prior to his arrival and with the great assistance of the hotel staff, we managed eventually to confirm that the bag had been sent to a police station. The staff, who didn’t speak good English , had been very patient in understanding my Japanese of limited proficiency , and had the matter sorted out to our great satisfaction."
