Lack of welcome
We were met by the owner on arrival & briefly showed around, we didn’t arrive until 1am so I’m not sure if he was tired but he was not very welcoming. The only welcome pack was 2 bottles of water, there was wine there but he advised this was €12 a bottle.
He also advised that the gas to the cooker was turned off, so on a stove there were two rings for 10 people, which would never be enough.
It was also not clear on the information that 4 of the beds were so separate with no access to main property, our teenage boys wouldn’t sleep there.
The location is quite convienient but you do need to drive everywhere with no walkable shop. The drive is so so steep that the bottom of the cars scrape along the bottom - we left ours at the top.
The pool was nice but limited area around it and from 2pm there is only 1 sunbed in the sun. The ladder to the pool is not adequate, it’s too short, the top rung is damaged & caused on of our guests to slip & fall in luckily not causing major damage but extensive bruising.
The air con was effective but again wasn’t on when we got there & not shown how to use.
We wouldn’t return to this villa mainly because of the reception, the drive & the pool & lack of outside space. Loved Elounda though.
