"Everything else about the property is fine... but the onsen was patronized by local customers with full body tattoos. We were not comfortable with that."

"Superb hospitality from the owner and his team. Breakfast on both days were delicious. If you arrive by train, private transport to the property may be arranged. We shared a room for 4pax with a private toilet. Wash basins with a water dispenser was communal. It was a very special experience for us. Loved the natural setting of the onsen. "

"The walls are paper-thin, you can hear neighbor's TV. There is a smell of mold in the room. The shared bath was not clean. The futons are very thin as well. The communal toilet slippers were disgustingly dirty, and no other slippers inside the hotel were provided (you walk on very old carpets and floors in the hotel hallways barefooted). "Nagataki is a compound of several "hundreds of years old" typical houses connected through walkable paths and integrated with nature. You can truly feel the "old" and "nature" vibe all across the property. "Quel séjour formidable dans cette maison ancienne et familiale, perdue dans la montagne ! Cette maison est immense, traditionnelle, et surtout, chargée de 150 ans d'histoire. "Stayed at Onn Nakatsugawa for a night before doing a day hike of the Nakasendo trail. The hotel is a short walk from the train station with various restaurant options nearby. The room itself is well appointed and spacious. There is also a public bath to relax in after a long day of traveling and being on your feet. A great experience overall."
