The old house has history and the room with the bay window was very comfortable, but the place is deserted and feels much like a sleepy Australian outback hotel when you have to shout hello to get someone's attention, and the pub is not manned and not open. "The rooms were not cleaned properly. Behind the bed there was alot of dust and dead insects. The bed was never moved. Rhe bathroom was also dirty. Lots of drad insects. For the duration of the stay, the cleaning staff supposedly cleaned the room and bathroom but the dead insects and dust was never removed. The hotel look good on the outside and the entrance looked clean and welcoming. The location was good. Staff were friendly. "

"I am a repeat visitor to Pontac. A lovely place to spend time at, especially outside on the stoep. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, wonderful views of the mountains surrounding Paarl. Definite value for money. The only area for improvement would be breakfast, it is okay, but could use some attention."
