"The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly. "Was a nice room. But wow was it roasting hot. We could find anywhere of turning the heating down or off so had a very hot night, even with fans on. The toilet however had no heating so was the opposite and freezing. Nice to have our own little room but think it was too pricey, compared to the many other hotels we stay in for major race events. Breakfast was toast, yogurts or 3 choices of cereal, nothing for vegetarians and not really a continental as offered. "

"Brilliant location for visiting all the main attractions in Bury St Edmunds. Was warmly welcomed by our host and they were flexible about check in times and us leaving the car in their car park before check in. Had a lovely quiet room which was warm and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was great, with a good selection. Would definitely stay here on future visits to the area."
