"I am writing this review on behalf of my daughter. We originally booked it for one night only, but due to changing family circumstances she had to add another night. She doesn't speak French, so she was very impressed with the staff ability to communicate with her and help her with all her needs. Customer service is what made this property to stand out. "Hotel Mercure is located in the hearing of Angouleme and right across the street from the Halles - a unique venue much akin to a farmer market with patisseries, bars, and wonderful food. The staff was wonderful and shout out to our bartender. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. The rooms are good sized, very clean, and fresh."

"We arrived to a lovely welcome by Malcolm. The pictures were very accurate. The farmhouse was beautiful and rustic. The views were gorgeous. We had everything we needed for a group family stay. Shops weren’t too far away. Thank you Malcom it was fab. "

"The hotel staff was friendly and our room was clean and spacious enough for a family of 4. The hotel is close to some restaurants, but there is no place to walk nearby the hotel. The breakfast for €8.00 was very basic, no fresh fruit and no eggs but decent coffee. "

"I’ve stayed here twice, my only issue with this properly is the code/pin entry to the building & rooms, as sometimes they fail you can’t get in. I arrived at 2pm, but the desk is technically open at 4pm. There is a machine outside to check you in if the desk is closed. 1st booking was direct & received the codes. 2nd time via Expedia my booking ref number didn’t work & we nearly had to wait, was almost stuck. Luckily a guy from outside let us in with his code & called Sabrina. Whom opened...

"Lovely, quirky hotel right in the middle of the city so very convenient for everything. The receptionists were excellent, so bright and helpful. Particularly helped with the parking as it’s quite tricky when the small car park is busy. The rooms were interesting - each seems to have an individual theme with different colours and attractive vintage furniture. Very comfortable with lovely linen bedding.
