"Don't judge a book by its cover is very true - I wasn't sure when I pulled up, but the rooms were fantastic. Recently renovated and had everything you could expect and then some. Bathroom was amazing. Room rate ncluded a continental breakfast delivered the night before to my room. This was ideal for me as I had to leave before breakfast started in the restaurant. Only negative - no lift so if you have mobility challenges not the most suitable as all rooms up one full flight of stairs. ...

"We loved our return visit to the Madsen at Penguin. We were ab le to stay in a room overlooking the beach and with opening window we could listen to the waves as we went to sleep. The Queen sized bed was very comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean. Microwave and tea making with plunger coffee available. Very close to shops, cafes and the Penguin Brewing Co. We love staying here"
