"Great place and great location. One major drawback however is the Glockenspiel, on a tower inside the hotel courtyard, that rings for several minutes every hour on the hour from 10 am to 10 pm. You can not only hear it, but feel it in the nearby rooms when it chimes. Can be very annoying for one trying to take a midday nap or who has gone to bed early. (Also, I discovered too late that had I booked directly with the property, the parking would have been free and the taxes reduced.) "

"The hotel is a great destination for couples or adults. The swimming pool and spa areas are not suitable for children but wonderful for adults. Everything is very clean and well looked after. We stayed in one of the south-facing rooms (last minute booking) in the older part of the hotel, the rooms was comfortably furnished and a good size. "We spent five nights in this unique hotel with a fascinating history. It is set by the River Lahn in the beautiful spa town of Bad Ems. The facilities such as the thermal pool were superb and we made full use of them. The staff could not have been more helpful, the room was really clean and comfortable and the food excellent. It is unashamedly old-fashioned but is full of character and we had a superb holiday there. Highly recommended!"
