"Staff was friendly and helpful. They promptly fixed a problem with our aircon. Good breakfast buffet. The rooms are not super soundproof, and we could hear the family next door quite late at night. "So that we're on the same page here, Yogyakarta sucks. You can't walk anywhere, not even really one block from the hotel. The air is dirty from the millions of scooters and there's not much to do outside of the two big temples far out of town. Given that as the baseline, the Gaia Cosmo is a decent hotel. Our room was nice and quiet and the lobby is nice. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They do serve this stomach-churning gross Asian breakfast buffet that smells so strong. I would stay...

"I relocated here because I was disappointed with another nearby hotel. I stayed about five days and it was really good. Definitely a well-run business with friendly and helpful staff. "I was disappointed for the housekeeping to throw my face soap yo the dustbin. They should have known that they can not throw anything except what it is inside the dustbin. First time that I knew, I complained to the receptionist but slow response until I called them again. Room and condition is OK but I feel insecure if they can throw everything outside dustbin with any assumption. I will not stay in this hotel again."

"The hotel needs to update its facilities because it is already too old. It does not live up to it’s 4-star hotel status. We booked it hoping that we will have a wonderful experience in a 4-star hotel, but we were very disappointed with the quality of room we had. They need to upgrade the hotel and compete with other 4-star hotels in the city."
