"This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. Big windows let in loads of natural light, and opening windows allowed fresh air which was nice. As some other people commented, no, they don't speak English - but it turns out the hotel is in Germany, so...

"I enjoyed my two night stay at this hotel. Single rooms in many hotels are often cramped afterthoughts, but I was pleased with mine at this one. It had a window wall with balcony looking at a nice view, a comfortable sitting area with a full size couch and a comfortable bed. The room was excellent value. Breakfast was inexpensive but very limited in choice. The restaurant's evening buffet and alacarte menu are also very limited, so I think it better to try a restaurant in town for supper. The...

"Stayed a couple of nights, and it was a very pleasant moment. Staff was nice and friendly. The bed and bathroom was perfectly clean and tidy. The hotel & restaurant is located within a residential area. There is an old monumental building just across the hotel. Breakfast was excellent."

"Great hotel close to nature, pity couldn't explore around because were only staying for short period and for work. Hotel was nice, not a usual city modern hotel. Restaurant was good, they have set menu each day for dinner and food was amazing. Good choice for breakfast as well."
