"Our bedrooms were excellent.. recently modernised… the main hotel was ok service hit and miss but perhaps a skeleton crew as just after NewYear… had to request for the fires to be lit and the lighting was not good resulting in no ambiance…however the food was excellent.."

"The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Their attention to detail was highly appreciated. There was a nice fire in the fireplace. The room and bathroom were clean. And dinner, the Balmoral Chicken, was delicious. The best I’ve had in Scotland. Veggies cooked to perfection as well. Highly recommended."

"Quite an unusual experience for me, eating dinner with the owners, chef and others guests, then relaxing in the sitting room as opposed to spending the evening sat on my bed like a usual B&B. It really made it an enjoyable stay. Everyone was lovely, food was delicious."

"Wonderful stay, we felt welcome as soon as we arrived - great hosts! Very dog friendly! Room was spacious and comfortable, so lovely to have a bath after a long day. Breakfast as excellent, our daughter loved picking what she wanted and said it was her favourite place we stayed all holiday! "

"We chose this property because it was perfectly located for hiking along the John O’Groats Trail and accessing the ferries to Orkney. The house was spotless and spacious. It had an upstairs with 3 bedrooms and a bath which we didn’t even use. The kitchen had everything we needed; loved the washer and dryer. The host was super accessible- not that we needed her. "
