"Terrible hotel. Don’t stay here. Checkin stated as from 3pm. Room not ready till 5pm even when travelling with two small children. Hotel staff told me that our room could be available from 3pm and it was their choice when it would be available - it took me getting rather frustrated for 10 minutes before they said that they apologised. Room quality really poor, food really poor, hotel al tired and staff overall poor. Don’t stay here"

"Castel Rundegg is an old fashioned hotel in the very best sense. It is a beautiful building in a most beautiful town, with comfortable public areas and spacious well appointed bedrooms. Those who are looking for discos and fast food options might choose elsewhere, but it does offer superb cuisine, stunning gardens and an old world elegance. It also boasts extensive pool, sauna and spa treatments. We look forward to returning there."

"Stayed for two nights. Location is nice with free bus connection to the city center. Service and front desk personell was friendly. Issues: - Property is worn down (except for the remodeled bathrooms). - Cleaning staff entered the room twice while still sleeping - ANTS! Minibar area and desk was clearly invaded by ants and even after complaining at the front desk, no action was taken / no alternative was offered to us (e.g. another room). "The owners, as well as the staff, are very friendly and helpful with tips, anecdotes, advice and friendly chat about a variety of subjects on the area, activities and the local culture. The hotel itself has a nice bar and restaurant with a variety of local food and wine and expert recommendations from the staff. Although we did not get a chance to try the Spa and outdoor pool, they both looked lovely. We hope to go back some day soon."

"Overall it was a lovely stay. The food was very good, both for breakfast and dinner. I also loved that they offered fresh juices, which is not something many places offer. I think the hotel rooms are in need of refurbishing as they are quite dated. I also think the hotel should definitely be fitted with air conditioning as it was far too hot throughout the whole hotel, in the gym and in our room.
