"Staff and public areas were excellent and very comfortable. Unfortunately the grounds are in need of TLC which is a shame. The hire of a skip for a day to remove all the rubbish and fishing debris would help. The bedroom accommodation needs a lot of paintwork and updating. I've slept in more comfortable beds in Premier Inns! Housekeeping was a bit erratic. The quality of the food at breakfast was mediocre. However it's perfect for dogs and the staff were great."

"I enjoyed the stay. The room was quiet, the bathroom was new, check in was quick, the price was very good, bar was comfortable, drinks were not expensive. Didn't have breakfast. If you are looking for romantic stay then this is not the place but i think it was good and has character."

"We were in one of the Mews rooms. Very impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Good breakfast choices. About a 6 minute drive to Troon Ferry Terminal. Had dinner in the Red Bowl restaurant and also the bar/lounge area and service in both areas was good. The decor in the latter is very Edwardian and harkens back to when it was a private residence. Would definitely come back for a repeat visit."
