"There was no one available to check me in. When someone came, they had "forgotten" about my reservation and then asked me if it was only one night. Acted bothered when I said it was 3 nights booked months prior. The fridge in the room was off and hot. No iron, not even a kettle for tea or coffee. They said I was the only one in the "castle" so I wondered in the kitchen and the OPENED rooms looking for a kettle only to realized I was NOT alone. "If you're under the age of 40 stay somewhere down the road in the main town of Gytheio!! My boyfriend and I (age 30 and 29) felt way too young and energetic for this sleepy hotel. Upon arrival, there were two stains on the outdated, cheap hotel which is not up to standard for a hotel listed as 4 stars. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. They used our balcony as a storage unit for towels and sheets which we found rude. Although we booked the cheapest room, this is not acceptable. Misleading...

The food is fine dining sourced locally with many homemade elements such as bread, ice cream and cake. Beautiful surroundings in a traditional Maniot tower - very relaxing. Highly recommended."

"Amazing place to stay in a tiny, old hilltop village. Just beautiful. Don’t try to drive too far into the village - the roads are very narrow! The beds were extremely comfortable and breakfast was delicious. We ate dinner at the taverna in the village which was nice. If you were staying more than one night - or wanted something more than a very basic meal - you would want to drive into Limeni which had many more food options. "
