Had an unfortunate experience at the Bistro on site for breakfast when the kitchen was shorthanded and the waitstaff did not advise of delays until we got up to find someone to ask - 40 min after ordering - when our food might arrive. Poorly trained waitress was dismissive/defensive rather than being informative/hospitable. It really stood out because we enjoyed such good service throughout our 2 weeks around Scotland at all manner of establishments. Hotel was...

"The manager/owner was very friendly and walked us through the whole place and its facilities. Has ample space to cook food and relax and even do your laundry. Seems well suited for "backpacking through scotland" type trips and also longer stays. Also has a box of kids toys in the lounge which occupied my boy for a good while."
