"We loved being right on the lake and had a nice balcony to sit on (even in the rain). The breakfast buffet had so many choices and was great and the staff was so attentive and sweet. We were lucky enough to meet the man who's family owned the hotel as we were perusing the pictures of his granfather, etc. He took the time to talk with us and give a little history - very nice and informative!! "

"The property, rooms and staff were all amazing. The family that owns the hotel are very hospitable and welcoming. We had a lovely evening chatting with them about a local festival l. It was very memorable. However, if you did not rent a car buyer beware that it is a long and steep climb/walk to the hotel from any bus stops or ferries. And Ubers/taxis are hard to come by. Other than that the walk itself is beautiful just a little bit difficult."

"We enjoyed staying at International au Lac Historic Lakeside Hotel. It is a good mix of old-style hotel with antiques with modern convenances and upgraded rooms. "Do NOT ever book this hotel. I booked and paid for my room in FULL 1 month ago. There was a large car event in Lake Como.. Well…….. 3 nights before my arrival. They emailed to say they Could Not Honor my stay!!!! I had already paid in full. Do NOT ever book this hotel. "

"I stayed here for one night and I definitely got my money's worth. The bathroom and shower were shared with other guests but they were really clean. The food was also great although a bit expensive. The room was a bit shoddy, but I'm not complaining; the beds were clean, towels were provided, the TV had plenty of channels, and I had a sink in the room which made it a very comfortable stay. If I go back to Lugano, I'll probably stay here again"
