"The historic property and character is nice, but the room is lacking and sparse. As a solo traveler, I was literally given one towel, one mug, one pillow for a large bed. What if I need to wash the mug to switch between coffee and tea, I don’t even have a towel to do dishes besides the one I used to wash myself with. "Nice, clean and cosy hotel. Stayed for a night and had dinner at the Aeiger Bar next to hotel. Restaurant booking is reserved for hotel guests. Food is nice although meat are abit dry. Helpful reception staff. "

"Great value in a nice little town. Clean, comfortable rooms. Great access to two national parks: Jostedalsbreen and Jotunheimen. The hotel is the only "action" in town, that is restaurant and "bar" (really the front desk, which in addition to alcohol also served as the local ice cream parlor). "

"Beautiful lakeside setting we wish we could have enjoyed longer. Staff member reached out to us when we were running late from a mountain hike and made arrival easy for us. Friendly cat brought us a "gift" after we arrived and kept the vermin away while we slept. Most excellent breakfast in the morning was a classic spread of Scandinavian "bread," which is bread, eggs, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, cereal, and much more, all serviced in the dining room with a view of the lake."
