The only slight downside is the slightly dodgy area, many homeless and beggars around the hotel, but it was only a short walk to the U-Bahn. No air con but the fan made it bearable in the August heat. "

"We liked the Klassic. Our room had a funny noise and my husband thought it came from the air vent. We didn’t think we could sleep through it. Hubby talked to the front desk and they switched us to a better room. Very nice rooms and front desk staff was great! We would stay there again. "

The hotel is located next to Hermannplatz, which can get noisy and busy during the days since it's a hub for public transportation for the U-subway and busses, which can take you to all the main tourist spots in Berlin. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you want to balance saving money on hotel stays and being as close as possible to transit to the tourist spots. "

"The place and location great. The staff is very nice. The only issue I had is the bathroom reeked of mildew. It was so pungent, I had to buy an air freshener for the bathroom. The smell was coming from the shower drain and the shower had black mold all over it. Since there is no central air, I understand, but a fan in the bathroom appeared to be there but not working. They really should fix it for $352.00 per night, had I known I would have stayed else where, The Quentin Hotel is a block away...
