"I stayed here for one night before catching a flight to another island. At €100 per night – the most expensive rate I’ve paid on Cape Verde – it was a huge disappointment. As a Gold Member on Expedia, I was promised a bottle of sparkling wine, which was missing. Instead, my room came with a cockroach (photo attached). Maybe it drank the wine for me. The air conditioning didn’t work, the shower drain was clogged, and mosquitoes thrived in the stagnant water. Housekeeping seemed questionable too...

My husband come down with flu and asked at reception if they had any medicine and the answer was “ no “ and end of, not an alternative offered or even indicating the nearest pharmacy. Rooms were okay, clean but worn out and the daily room keeping rushed as I would find dirt on the floor from the day before. "Fint ophold. Der var lige lidt mangler ved ankomst men vi kontaktede udlejer og han kom inden for en time og fixede det hele. Selve resortet er super lækkert og smukt. Man bor nede i "bunden" væk fra stranden så man får hurtigt gået sine 10.000 skridt hvis man tøffer lidt rundt på hotellet. Vi har ikke været særlig begejstrede for selve resort-personalet i receptionen - de var svære at kommunikerer med. Men overall virkelig fint til prisen. Dejlig destination!"

"The melia resort is amazing, but the apartment is privately owned which lived up to this resorts standard. The apartment was spacious and had every amenity that was needed, along with a lovely welcome pack of essentials. It is situated in a great location, with the sun starting early on the left hand side of the balcony moving over to the right hand side, so sun for the full day. "We were met at the airport and taken to our apartment. Really nice and airy, nicely decorated with good shower and comfortable bed and all the things you need to self cater. Brilliant double glazed window tilted so could be left open all day but when closed blocked out any noise. Right next to beach and with a nice garden with parasol to sit out in. "JC ist ein super netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber und die Apartments sind modern und liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück auf dem Dach ist sehr gesellig mit den anderen Gästen, wobei wir persönlich und eher mit JC verquatscht haben :) Die Umgebung ist super, weil man nicht direkt im Zentrum wohnt, aber gleichzeitig das Zentrum nur einen Katzensprung entfernt ist.
