"l'Amphitheatre hotel provided an acceptable place to stay for 2 nights in Nimes. The price was fair and affordable. The location was very good for pedestrian access to Nimes attractions, dining and shopping. Our room overlooked a charming retail square but it was bit noisy as restaurants cleaned up at closing and with some early morning garbage pick-up. There was no elevator but the hotel did possess some amount of charm."

"This hotel is in a great location. Parking is nearby for 40€ for three days. Or 25€ per day. We found it to be quiet. The staff were not the friendliest bunch but they did their job. Seemed clean enough. It’s fine for a night or two. Not really special or stand out in anyway. If you’ve seen pictures that looks like the room is in a basement it’s because the windows are very small and look at a brick wall. "There was a calm, genteel feel to the hotel and grounds, a sense of grandeur past. The staff were helpful and polite. The grounds were lovely and we enjoyed having a leisurely breakfast in the gardens. It would have been good to have some help taking heavy bags up the stone stairs as there did not seem to be a lift/elevator."

"Very disappointed for what was a very expensive two night stay in very basic accommodation. Extra charges for towels and for cleaning (including collect and taking back our own linen). No working aircon which meant really uncomfortable sleep. "
