"This is a difficult rating. Very clean place, friendly. Great location, close to Airport, close to down town Machico. Machico even has a sand beach. Had a nice breakfast room with a filling cold breakfast. Room was a a little small. The biggest problem was the shower drain was very slow, and shower head push out a large amount of water, ended up flooding the bathroom a couple times. Ran out of hot water one day, may have been due to three toung women that just arrived. Only happened...

"We have just returned from a short break to Madeira and had a lovely stay. John the owner is a lovely gentleman and his son Alberto made us very welcome. The hotel is very central and only a five minute walk to the cable car, buses and restaurants. Although the hotel is dated decor wise it is spotlessly clean. We had the breakfast and the Madeira breakfast rolls are delicious, the breakfast is great value. We will return to this hotel. Thanks John and your family for a lovely trip! "

On a side street so not a lot of traffic noise. Supermarket 3 min walk. Staff so friendly and helpful and serving staff brilliant, quietly super efficient. Room was very good, balcony, great shower. I took this in May on Madeira Island, Portugal! This is one of the most majestic sights I saw on this island paradise! Penha d'Aguia (Eagle Rock) is really impressive to see up close. It was even difficult to get all this in one photo. I need a better lens ;). I saw it after visiting a distillery in Porto da Cruz. Just a few meters away is this massive landscape! Porto da Cruz is located on the northeastern side of Madeira, definitely a picturesque part of the island! There was even some swimmers around where I took this picture. Everyone was having a good time there, either on the beach of walking along the pier :). There was other awesome views to the other side, as well. Incredible cliffs that seem to go on forever. And it was even foggy on that side, a big contrast to what you see here. I also think I saw Eagle Rock from another side, as well. And would love to return and see more views of it!!
