"Charming place. Authentic European experience. No frills (no coffee machine or shampoo, etc) but good clean room in a classic old building 😁 don’t think there was AC; it got a bit warm but was ok. Breakfast did not disappoint … lavish spread and excellent coffee options in the lobby!! There’s no staff available in the evenings. Paid for parking in adjacent garage and that worked well. The pictures of the bathroom on the website are only from the bigger rooms so when we checked in there was only a small square shower. The staff was amazing went out of their way to make my stay there much better. "

"All in all a good place to stay. A quirky policy of requiring a 10 euro security deposit to borrow their umbrella. It seems to me that they should let you borrow it and and charge the fee if you fail to return the umbrella or damage it somehow the staff was friendly and willing to help"

"The hotel is in a great location and the car park is close by. The lady on the desk when we checked in we think was the owner. She was really helpful and friendly. The breakfast room was a typical German wooden panelled room which was delightful the staff made us feel welcome and the breakfast was excellent. "

Public transportation is excellent, so all of Mainz is easily accessible. Additionally it is only a 10-minute walk to the Gutenberg university.
