One drawback is that the bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn't cover the doorway completely, so there is no real privacy in the bathroom. The food was not great and the service was very slow. "l'Amphitheatre hotel provided an acceptable place to stay for 2 nights in Nimes. The price was fair and affordable. The location was very good for pedestrian access to Nimes attractions, dining and shopping. Our room overlooked a charming retail square but it was bit noisy as restaurants cleaned up at closing and with some early morning garbage pick-up. There was no elevator but the hotel did possess some amount of charm."

"This hotel is in a great location. Parking is nearby for 40€ for three days. Or 25€ per day. We found it to be quiet. The staff were not the friendliest bunch but they did their job. Seemed clean enough. It’s fine for a night or two. Not really special or stand out in anyway. If you’ve seen pictures that looks like the room is in a basement it’s because the windows are very small and look at a brick wall. "Excellent location for visiting Nimes and Pont du Gard. Lovely large swimming pool. Good selection of food available at buffet breakfast. We stayed in the family room which was very spacious for 4 people. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future."
