"This property is very remote but a great option to break up a long drive between Myvatn and the east coast towns. Lots of different buildings for overnighters with a restaurant on site. Beautiful scenery and so peaceful. "

Camping overnight in a turf house village we decided to go on an #Adventure towards the snow capped Herdubreid the Queen. Many Icelanders consider her to be the most beautiful mountain in all of Iceland. Herdubreid is actually a tuya, a flat topped volcano with steep sides that forms when lava erupts through a glacier. This campsite was one of the most unique we stayed at with its all of its turf houses.
