"It was nice and clean place on panoramic street. WE stayed three days. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and helped us number of times with great tips and suggestions. Room are quite small and shower area specially but then that reflects in very reasonable and affordable price for the location. WE enjoyed out stay and had little balcony to enjoy as well as large patio on top of bulding. "

I don't normally rate 5 stars, but from the excellent meet to leaving, the entire staff was perfect. A five star meal, cupped with 5 star service, can not praise this place enough. "We loved our stay at hotel dei Capitani, would highly recommend. Montalcino is famous for truffles, wild boar, wine, and beautiful views, especially from this hotel. It is on top of a mountain and in the country so you can expect to see bugs in your room like spiders, mosquitos, stink bugs, but they are mostly all harmless and more of a nuisance than anything. When looking for food to eat I recommend “Il Moro SNC di pellegrini Alessandro”, extremely clean kitchen, family run, delicious homemade...

"Right next to train station so very convenient if you are traveling by train. Several good restaurants and the old town are within a short (maybe 8 min.) walk. One word of caution…it says AC but hotels in the area do not turn on AC until May 1st no matter how hot it may be in April!"
