"The hotel was old but very well maintained. Cleaned, spacious and walking distance to the central train station. Very friendly and helpful stuff. A bit on expensive side for the location but considering the event going on, UEFA championship it was a very good choice we made. The area around was not the greatest one. Nothing going on and not clean. Surprised with Germany, returning there after 30 years "

"This would be a 5-star property except for one glaring problem: the parking garage is not large enough for registered guests. If you show up to register late or return from a late dinner, you are locked out. The call button will say park 0.3 miles away in a park on the street until 9am then move or get charged by lot owner. Daunting task for someone with lots of luggage or mobility issues unaware of the area. If handicapped, choose a different hotel. "

"Stayed one night in February. This is a budget hotel, and I am rating this as a budget hotel. The property is basic, clean, no thrills. The room was adequate, the bathroom was a bit tight, felt like in a space capsule. Sleep was comfortable. Had a desk to do my remote work. Walking distance to the U-Bahn station. "Located from 5-10 mins. walk from Essen Hbf. Very quiet and staff is helpful. Free one glass of beer or coke is available at the time of check-in. If you want to go shopping, go walk for 10 mins. and then you'll reach Limbecker Platz. There's REWE (supermarket) and you can grab some German sweets for gifts. :)"
