"Good value hotel with nice restaurant, the hotel fronted on to a busy road which might be a disturbance for those guests at the front, but we were at the side/rear. Facilities in the bedroom were good. It is on the edge of town so it is quite a walk to the town/village centre, but a pleasant place to stay."

"Well presented room, in a quirky building that was slightly difficult to find as the name board has fallen down at some time and not been put back up. Would consider using again, but might look for options slight closer to the centre of Montlucon. We were only staying for one night on our way south through France. Staff friendly, continental breakfast ok and parking on site."

The village with its castle is very run down with a large derelict hospital, numerous closed hotels and empty shops, but still worth a visit as a stop over."

"Nice town to stop at. The place has obviously seen better days (probably before they built the Autoroute), but for the price it was fine. Clean, friendly with a bar and decent food. Secure parking was a bonus. Obviously if you spend more you will get better but it was just an overnight stop whilst travelling."

"Location of the property in a forest and its setting is good. The room was spacious and well fitted out - it had been refurbished since we last stayed in it. We were made very welcome. Our only comment would be the menu was a bit limited. "

"A magical setting and very quiet place. We stopped here on the way from Le Bugue in the Dordogne to Paris. However, it was a bit basic! We were staying in a cottage next to the mill which was 1970s concrete and furnished very basically. I have seen more luxurious student accommodation. The dinner was ambitious but truly awful. I had melon with champagne followed by pork mignon. The first course tasted rather soapy, the second had a thick sweet sauce. We didn’t pay 12 euros for pudding, feeling...
