The food was a little underwhelming, however; this doesn't mean it wasn’t nice, just had a little higher expectation based on other reviews. It's a cozy hotel where lots of people congregate to have a good time, so expect during the weekends that there will be noise (music, laughter, increasing in intensity as people drink more) late at night. This is because the rooms are close to the bar and fireplace area (I'd suggest the hotel to have a quiet time starting at 10pm or 11pm at most). "A warm welcome from the Reception lady, who quickly got me checked in and was very helpful. Comfortable room, plenty of space and room for hanging clothes up. Nice restaurant with lots of food and drink options, the waiting staff were friendly and efficient. Nice walks from the door."

"We stay in the Jethro room. Which was lovely. Would say due to the size of the room and also the bathroom ( with separate shower and claw footed tub !) could almost be classed as an apartment. We are in the red lion on the evening and the food was cooked perfectly. The pub itself is lovely with little nooks, and the garden area is great too.
