"It is an ideal spot. We went to the races at Newbury. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was excellent. The main issue was staffing, there were simply not enough. Apparently 2 of their bar / restaurant staff called in sick. It was chaos and very slow. Sophie (duty manager) did her best and was excellent, but it was an uphill struggle with the rooms, bar and restaurant all full !! "

"We visited our friends living in Andover. The hotel is pretty nice. Good location. Good food breakfast. I like our stay. Only issue is the hot water system I don’t know how to make the temperature right in shower…"

"Loved the proper coffee machine and a complimentary beer. Nice decor, comfortable bed, large bathroom. As previous reviews commented, you can hear the noise from the bar a bit, but it never bothered me (a light sleeper may want to bring some ear buds as the building is in the city centre so shouting outside can sometime be quite loud). But the location (close to station and amenities) definitely outweigh any issues. I would definitely stay again."
