"Such a lovely, family run hotel. So much more personal and quiet compared to the bigger, 4 & 5 star hotels. We were really glad we picked the Caravel. Huge room (apartment), great food and pool and just over the road from the sea. The owners were incredibly friendly, sorted out some last minute euros for us and booked probably the best taxi service we’ve ever had! All the good reviews were spot on. "

"Very poor quality food, limited choices, poor housekeeping, in our 10 day stay, our sheets were changed once, the room was not cleaned at all. The pool dirty/cloudy and constantly full of bugs, and was generally in bad condition with broken lights, tiles (with sharp edges) and plagued with ants. Drinks were the usually cheap all inclusive type, and frequently some types were out of stock. Staff were generally friendly and pleasant though. Would not stay again."

"This was our 3rd visit to the Hotel Island Blue, the last visit being June 2018, so we were really excited to return, and hoping not much had changed. "The property has 2 buildings, one closer to the village centre and another one with direct access to the beach. We were lucky to be by the Gaia beach just opposite ours, which has a nicer swimming pool and a bar/restaurant, which is very good and part of the hotel management. The main restaurant is in the building close to the village centre and they do offer a very brief transfer between the two with an electric car at breakfast and dinner time. All hotel staff is absolutely great. On the negative, cleanliness could be better, especially for the swimming pool. Suggest to rent a car as public transport is lean. "
