"A lovely relatively quiet old manor house, just off the M11. Rooms well insulated for heat, 2 windows didn’t close easily in my room, but other guests seemed to slam them shut. Bed was huge and very comfortable; the bathroom was clean and the domestic staff maintained the room daily. I did drive past a couple of times as i thought the main iron gates were a service entrance, but not. Its a sharp turn into the 'drive' and pull up to the gates which will open automatically. "Great centrally located inn. Comfortable bed (quite firm mattress - that’s what I like), clean room, kettle with a good amount of teas and coffee. Friendly and helpful staff. I didn’t eat, but seems to be a quite popular restaurant. Bathroom had a tub which was a nice surprise - water controls are a bit strange and take a while to figure out hot water, but then there was plenty. I would recommend it if you are visiting Ely. "
