"Gort wouldn't be an obvious choice of location, but we stayed for nollaig na mban ( aka little Christmas) and were pleasantly surprised. The area is rich in culture and literary hustory. Fans of WB Yeats and the abbey theatre are in for a treat. Also, the natural landscape and geology are unique, being right beside the burren. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and has an excellent bar and food ootion. Staff are polite and wrlcoming. Would definitely recommend it. "

"Our hotel room was very clean and the property was nice. We had a small view of the river from our room. The mattress in our room was uncomfortable - the springs felt as if they were protruding through and our pillows were extremely flat. We didn’t sleep well, but everything else was lovely and the staff were accommodating and friendly."

"The property allowed us to check in early without charge. Staff were super friendly. The bed was comfy. The rooms are very dark and a little dated but they’re clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Well worth the price we paid "

"The hotel is beautifully furnished. Bedroom very clean and comfortable with ample plug-in and USB points. The only issue is not enough tea or coffee in the tray. The only mirror is in the bathroom, making applying make up difficult whilst partner is showering, steamy mirrors. Really could do with a mirror in a well lit area of bedroom. We had dinner and breakfast, and the food was of excellent quality. I would definitely stay here again."

"Edmund the Valet at the Abbey saved us by fixing our rental car when it had problems. He was so polite and helpful like all of the staff there. The room was magnificent. The breakfast was good too! "

"Service was fantastic! Everyone was very inviting and friendly. We stayed at the castle Dec 30th. Vivian at the front desk was great, she took our families on a ghost tour throughout the castle. The bartender, wait staff and overnight porter were great as well!"

"Drove around Ireland with my son for almost three weeks staying in a different place each night and this was by far our favorite hotel. Lovely clean comfortable rooms friendly staff. Hotel, cafe across the street, and pizza place next door are all owned by the same nice guy and what really set this place apart other than the great rooms was the food. "Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice rooms, and loved the entrance with fab staircase. Nice bar and restaurant. Good breakfast options. Cons. The room was very hot. Breakfast was ruined by music being played midway through my sitting. First of all it was loudly tested by the staff and then played consistenly so i had to leave. I think most people want a peaceful breakfast and don't wish to have loud music or listen to staff discussions. Other than that, I would recommend. "
