"The room i was in was reasonably nice. Dated decor, but clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful, however hardly spoke any English, so it was tricky getting checked in and out. Breakfast was poor. The sausages and eggs were cold (I did get a bit of an upset stomach on my third day, however not sure if this was because of the breakfast or something else I ate outside the hotel) and the bread was hard. Das dazugehörige italiensiche Restaurant offeriert hervorragendes Essen zu fairen Preisen. Etwas ein gar grosses Hotel - allenfalls etwas unpersönlicher Service aber ansonsten alles Bestens und kann auf jeden Fall weiter empfohlen werden."

"We only had one night here, would have liked to stay more. The hotel has its own restaurant for lunch and dinner in a separate building a minutes walk from rhe accommodation. Really good local food. Our room was quite a bit larger than expected and spotless. No hesitation in recommending this as a very good place to stay."

"Das Hotel ist richtig in die Jahre gekommen. Hätte man inwestuert und renoviert wäre es richt gut, das Personal sehr unfreundlich, preisleistung Verhältniss passt nicht, nur das Frühstück war für den ausgewiesenen Preis ok. Wenn sich es lässt werde ich dieses Hotel meiden. Zimmer Reinigung soll alle zwei Tage stattfinden, wir haben zwei Nächte dort geschlafen und es würde nicht aufgeräumt "

"Quiet location; large room; great breakfast and cozy bar! If travelling by car is not your thing, not sure if it could be a brisk walk to the hotel."

"Nice hotel, close to the former border - recommend to ask the boss about it - certainly an interesting conversation. They have also a nice Wellness area (Sauna), Food is very good (we took the local Cold plate for dinner). There is a room which can be locked for bycicles. Friendly staff ! Nearby are Castle Heldburg and nice bike Trails along the former border patrol ways. "

"nice experience the family run hotel was very pleasant the staff were great nothing was a problem even though i arrived late in the night Helda was prepared to make me something to eat . i was too tired and i did not think it was fair to put her through all that trouble. i will definately come back"

"Wonderful renovated bathroom <3 Very nice, welcoming owners - felt at home and well taken care of. Good breakfast buffet with a lot of variety. Good location for hikes. We were very grateful that we could bring our two dogs with us."
