"Absolute gem of a place, this was our second visit as it's location is super and the hotel itself is a bit quirky and non chain. If travelling by train go to Exeter Central as St David's is uphill."

"I was staying as my wife was in hospital so my criteria for finding a place to stay were cheap, available and close to the hospital, the Silverton Inn was all these so I booked it. I'm really glad I did, admittedly I wasn't really in the mood for socialising but if I was, there would have been ample opportunity but I was feeling pretty insular and that was ok too, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the place was easy to find, the rooms had everything you need. When we arrived, we were told that they did not have a reservation for us and when we showed the email confirmation, we were told that they did not work with Hotels.com and that they did not have the rooms available. We were able to resolve the situation eventually, but not a pleasant nor welcoming experience!"
