"The rooms are very dated. Beds are not all that comfortable. We had to open and lock the room from the inside with a key that was difficult to use. It took both me and my daughter trying the key before we could get the door opened. We could hear the people in the room beside us talking as if they were in the room with us!"

I left my e-reader in the room and couldn’t turn around to he get it and the fantastic staff researched how to get it back to Canada for me at the lowest possible cost! Wonderful customer service. "The hotel is way outside of Astorga, and it looks like the hotel that the apocalypse left behind. There were almost no guests. The whole staff leaves at 4pm. They do not serve real food despite having a restaurant. Much of the grounds are in a state of disrepair. If you want dinner, you have to walk along the highway to another hostel down the road. The staff was very nice, and the rooms themselves are comfortable if old school. However, I could never quite get over the unsettling feeling of...

"The convento Foncebadon is wonderful. Clean. Comfortable. Cozy. The room was large. We slept beautifully. Very quiet. The only issue we had was even though i made my reservation on Hotels.com for some reason they did not have record of us. After they made a phone call somewhere it was clarified and we had a wonderful stay. Also the restaurant served dinner and we were quite pleased. I highly recommend the Convento"
