"The bed was comfortable and clean. Nice decor. Chairs were not comfortable, too low. Nobody on the premises during the night. No emergency phone numbers supplied. Very little in the way of literature about the area. Security of residents’ rooms was questionable. Members of the public had access to the stairs near the front door to the bar."

"Wow! What an amazing place! We spent two nights in the Curlew hut which was in a perfect spot. The hut was cosy and clean and surprisingly spacious for what we needed. "This hotel accepted our booking via Hotels.com and it was still confirmed and prepaid up until arriving at the hotel. We were visiting from Australia and visiting relatives in Hawick, we rented a car in Edinburgh and drove there. We arrived early afternoon and found a handwritten note on the front door requesting guests to call a mobile phone on arrival. Whilst in the car park an employee arrived and said that he had no knowledge of our booking, I showed him my confirmation and he blamed...

"The Hotel has been closed since last year (2022) but still takes bookings. We arrived to find the place in a derelict condition. No one at the hotel and the grounds overgrown with weds and grass. Head office confirmed the hotel was open when I had concerns and had a web chat with them, Spoiled my break away. The hole group of OYO is to blame for this as the gave out misleading information. I now need to pursue them for a refund of my booking fee, please don't do what I did and book with OYO."
