The room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for short walks through Castel di Sangro, or for drives through the gorgeous Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo and its scenic towns. "Hotel Don Luis closed for the season 30 September. We were moved to a sister property, Hotel Sport Village, for our reservation 1 and 2 October. Sport Village is in the outskirts of Castel di Sangro, just a short distance from Hotel Don Luis. The hotel is modern, with a pool, spa and nice grounds. We happened to be at the hotel during preparations for a lavish wedding; therefore, Sunday breakfast was a giant buffet! We stayed at Sport Village 14 years ago and were pleased with the upgraded...

"The hotel was dark, dreary with small, dark rooms, and few amenities. The walls were paper thin and you could hear children screaming in the halls and in the courtyard. The breathtaking scenery that had been promised could not be seen from the rooms. A change in room was no better. We had booked for two nights but left after two hours because of the appalling conditions and the noise."
