"Overall, the hotel/resort is very nice and serene. The beach front rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere. The current renovations make for a couple of hazardous areas, but surprisingly, no noise. There is only one restaurant on the premises - it has limited hours and is overpriced. The food was superb and the service excellent."

It was pouring rain and he upgraded our room to try and make up for the poor weather--super thoughtful and kind. A few hundred meters from the hotel is a restaurant called Clarabells. It has wonderful pizza. Would stay here again and definitely recommend to others. "

"This is an old school hotel. Reminds me of a B&B. The room was pleasant but rather small. I found the a/c not responsive. The restaurant, Ascots, was excellent. Service was very good, including the housekeeping. The continental breakfast was adequate. My biggest complaint is that the pool was more ornamental than functional. I never used it. "

"This is a beautiful property with a remarkably kind and helpful staff. The hotel is right on the harbor with a wonderful view of Hamilton and the ship traffic. It is also located adjacent to one of the ferry landings, which makes transportation simple. Twice, the hotel staff offered to drive us to where we were headed just to make it more simple for us. "Lana was wonderful, very kind and helpful! The room was "Spartan" (no frills), but it served it's purpose. It was clean and comfortable. I loved having a balcony which looked out over the city of Hamilton. Although I never used the pool, I would- however -suggest that it remain cleaned simply for aesthetic reasons. I spent my time of course, enjoying the beautiful beaches of Bermuda! I will definitely return!"

Railway Trail runs along the north side of the island. As you walk, you'll go in old train tunnels, walk under tropical canopies, and stroll on the grass "sidewalks" until the trail picks up again. There are great views of the ocean, homes, and plants. In Bermuda, you are allowed to paint your house the color of your choice but the roof must be white. This is because there is no fresh water source on the island so each home harvests rain water to use in the home. The water is stored under the house in large tanks. But why white? The white used to be from lime mortar that has anti-bacterial properties, now the the roofs are painted white which reflects UV light from the sun and helps purify the water. If I had a house in Bermuda, it would be teal!
