"Room was very small - loft room so you could not stand up straight from toilet or at head of bed. We did not realise the size of the room but the it was very clean. There are bigger rooms available which were sold out when we booked but we did not realise just how small the room would be. No air conditioning but we requested a fan. Just a single window in the ceiling. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. Lovely restaurant attached to hotel and right on beach which was really great."

"Very good food and drink at very reasonable price. Used mostly by locals and very busy at times and good atmosphere, if you don’t speak Spanish have translate on phone. There is nothing really within walking distance as it’s in an industrial area but a large car repair and tyres within 1/4 mile."

"No hemos alojado un fin de semana una pareja con el niño. Apartamento amplio, muy limpio, moderno, seguro y ni un solo ruido. Un baño completo con un jacuzzi muy grande. "A beautiful country house run by a family with just 8 rooms just 2.5 km away from Potes. A good choice for one who prefers to stay a little bit away from the city centre. We chose this place because we drive and the very good price. It turned out to be a real gem as the owner and son went out of their way to give us very good recommendations for nature walks, etc. We also took an evening walk to Potes, which was 30 minutes each way. The house also has a large garden with various fruit trees...

"The posada is a beautiful old building, perfectly maintained and spotlessly clean. Communication was a little difficult with the owners due to my limited Spanish and their limited English - but we managed! We had a lovely room and a very comfortable bed. It was 4km to drive to the nearest town for dinner. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice of local and homemade food. We stayed here on our way back to Bilbao airport after holidaying further west. It is very rural, south of Santillana...

"It is a very small family run hotel, only 5 rooms. Easy for Santillana del Mar. Off road parking. Great view from bedroom. Very nice owner. But the big advantage is a comfortabe bed and absolute quiet. I slept through to the alarm at 8, considering i am typing this at 4.00 am in my next hotel shows just how unusual it is to sleep that long!"
