"I loved the historical nature of this hotel. It was formerly an orphanage and it has been restored to reflect that. The rooms are small, basically the width of a king size bed, (which was gorgeously comfortable), though there was a shower and sink in the room as well. The toilets are down the hall. The rooms are dead quiet, as you are encased by thick walls. There are a few plaques around the hotel to tell of its former life. "The room was clean and the beds reasonably comfortable although there was a hole in one of the sheets. It was located on the second floor with very steep and narrow stairs. The hotel was dog friendly which I needed but our dog was afraid of the noisy bar and the steep stairs. Location was wonderfully central and on the waterfront. The bar had a DJ late into the night (about 1:30 am) which we could hear clearly in our room. Earplugs were provided which should have been our first clue....

"We stayed here for 3 weeks after flying in from the US to visit family in the nearby area. We didn't want to be in a hotel for 3 weeks as we would find that claustrophobic. This was the ideal solution. The park staff were excellent and could communicate easily in English and German if needed. It is extremely quiet here with easy access to the excellent Netherlands freeways. The indoor pool and the swimming lake were loved by my visiting grandkids. The service, pizzas and beers at the onsite...
