"From arrival until departure the team at the Talbot I found the team to be warm, professional and attuned. Their service appeared effortlessly seamless. The bedroom was spacious and I had a lovely sleep in my super comfy bed, on gorgeous pillows. Breakfast was generous and tasty. The corridors to the bedroom could do with a refresh but other than that the Talbot Hotel was a treat of a stay!"

"The rooms were old and needed major upgrades. The beds were ancient. The stairs up and down, little hallways, and more stairs, throughout the hotel were like a maze. The bartenders and wait staff were excellent and the location was good. But there are much better choices for the amount we paid."

We don't usually go for breakfast when away but as it was included we thought why not?! Breakfast was tasty, good variety of options especially as I'm a vegetarian. "From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with this hotel, grounds and surroundings. From the friendly doorman to Dermot the concierge who took our bags, ordered our taxis etc, to the lovely receptionists and that was before we took in the beautiful decor, comfort and layout of bars and restaurants and before we got to our bedroom which was more like a suite as was huge with a lovely view of the estate. The food was excellent and it was lovely to chill in the little bar area at reception...

"The reception staff was friendly, helpful, and informative during check in. The breakfast staff was also responsive. I had to go to the bar to get a menu. The fish and chips were good. I had to ask for my bill. The room was good but the bathroom had plumbing issues. I would stay again for the overall value. "
