"We stayed two nights in John Day, first night we stayed at Best Western. Big mistake it cost us $$$ more and we had issues; couldn't get hooked up to the internet, the coffee maker in the room didn't work, and the shower was more like a sand blaster than a shower. I didn't need any soap, due to loosing a layer of skin! Save yourself $$$ and a big hassle and stay at the Sunset... You can buy a pretty nice breakfast for $$$ you will save. "

"The staff were extremely friendly! She helped us find a spot to park our UHaul Sind they didn’t have truck parking and gave us a little welcome card with information. They do allow pets with a grass area a small walk from the motel. We got there at 7 on a Sunday so most places were closed or close to closing, but they do have a good amount of restaurants and cafes! There is a Safeway an 11min walk from the motel however so we just got food there! They have a microwave and a fridge in the motel...

"Chill and comfy place to stay for the night. Especially if visiting the fossil beds ! I came with a friend but would feel safe solo too. Owners were super nice ! There’s a bar right next door and a cafe which good drive thru breakfast right down the street within walking. Found a hair in the pillow and a stain on the blanket so only reason it’s not a 5, but it wasn’t a big deal to me personally ! "
