"It was our first time traveling with our dog and they allow dogs. I didn't find the dog area until the next morning. Husband didn't think to ask where to walk the dog the night before and it wasn't offered. It's set back off main road so we didn't notice much of the semi traffic near-by. Off US 35 and I-71 inter change. Best because of Starbucks offering right down the way! Easy food options/gas before continuing on journey. We hadn't noticed the property for 16 years of traveling but now...

"The GD is a very lovely place to stay. The beds are comfortable. It is a historic building and is very lovely. The restaurant and bar downstairs are great. Everything closes down at 10, so it is nice and quiet at night. We will stay here again. There is coffee and a light continental breakfast on the 3rd floor. We didn't notice that at first, it is written on the welcome sheet they give you. There is no coffee in the rooms. "

"It wasn't terrible. It was clean enough and had the very basics. The pictures make it seem bigger and cuter. This is a tiny motel. The main problem I had was that the door pushed back open slightly so it didn't close tight. It was latched, but cold air was pouring in. "This was the 3rd time we stayed here and we were told that the 2nd time we were there that the bath mat was wet and left on the floor by the bed and used to clean up floor. Then he said it had to be thrown away. Mind you we didn't even know this happened and we are talking about a $3 bath mat. We were also told we were going to be charged a $35 deposit for our stay the 3rd time. He did forgo the deposit but we were not very happy."
