"The Hotel Oberland was the perfect place to stay in Lauterbrunnen. We stayed here on the recommendation of Rick Steves and it was perfect for our three days. We stayed across the street in like a mini apartment down the steps towards the back of the building. We had plenty of space with 2 beds, a kitchenette, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. The Coop grocery was a 5 minute walk down the road if we needed anything. The room was extremely clean, warm and plenty of space to move around. ...

Ausserberg was very quiet with nothing going on in the evenings and no restaurants or anything. There was a small grocery spot but it was closed. But, it did have cool old buildings. The free transpiration pass that was included in our nightly rate allowed us to go up any tram, gondola or take any bus, anytime, as many times as we wanted to for free during our stay.
