"The person at the desk when we checked in was amazing!! Her personality, sense of humor and her calmness were first rate! The lobby was full of people who were staying there for a youth volleyball tournament in town! She was unflappable! Calm, focused and conversing with me as she checked us in! She's a gem! Everything thing was very good, except there were only 2 kleenex in the box in our room. With colds and allergies killing me, was a bit disappointing. "

"As someone who travels for work and regularly stays in hotels a week at a time, I found my room to be very functional with nice amenities for living and doing my work. The spacious walk-in shower was an unexpected treat. My only complaint is that there was short body hair on the bathroom floor that was not my own. A quick swiffering would have fixed that."

"This hotel was a nice oasis for us when we came to town after the death of a relative. The front desk staff and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is simple but adequate. We loved the cappuccino machine! It was very convenient to use and great for the cold temps. Our TV had a problem and they fixed it right away. Highly recommend this property."

"Kim is wonderful and helpful! This is a no frills motel. If you want a cheap clean room, a basic place to sleep (bring your own pillow if you are picky about pillows), shower (water gets HOT, pressure is fairly good; bring your own towels if you use/want big towels and/or plush/soft/new ones), and do not need any amenities (no chair for desk in room with two beds, no hair dryer, no hangers) this is the place to stay. Can't beat the price. Stayed two nights last week and am typing this in my room...

"Technicolor retreat was a great relaxing getaway. The home is lovely and the location on the river was so relaxing after a day in the Dunes or Chicago. It felt very secluded and private. We can’t wait to go back. We were able to take our golden retriever who loves all things woods and water. Wish we could have stayed longer! "
