"I picked this property based on reviews and hotel photos. The place didn’t disappoint. Spacious rooms, beautiful and well-maintained gardens and absolutely the best staff. Our group arrived quite early and the manager allowed us to check in early and even gave us breakfast that morning. Accommodated every request as the hotel was not busy. Manager was quite friendly and hands on. The rest of the hotel staff were also genuinely nice and caring. My only regret is we should have stayed here longer....

"What a treat to stay here after a two day trek from Kalaw to Inle Lake. The hotel is on the outskirts of the main part of town but it was truly a mini oasis once you entered the grounds. The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. This was one of the few places in Myanmar that had a set breakfast instead of a buffet but this was one of the most beautiful breakfast setups during my travels! I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you come to Nyaungshwe, do yourself a favor...

"Breakfast is average but sufficient. Music is a bit too loud at eating place. Good if they can turn down the volume. Service is great. Was sick one day and they cook porridge for me upon my request. Should have only same price for local and overseas customers. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Royal Kalaw Hills Resort. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the food is excellent and the service was personal and everyone was very attentive. Chozin, who manages the resort was particularly helpful and I could always count on her to help me in many capacities. Her English skills are very good and she was able to help tremendously. Thank you all for a lovely visit!"

"It's a budget hotel, so everything is pretty basic, but importantly, everything works and is certainly comfortable enough. Staff were friendly and very helpful, even with limited English. Location is a bit outside the centre, but perfect for the (Fire) Balloon Festival being a 5-10 minute walk from the launcing site at Awayyar Fire Balloon Field."

"WE arrived there quite late, 4pm. It was about to be sunset and get cold. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful in giving tips to eateries and sights. The location of the hotel, on top of a hill, gives to great view of the sunset and sunrise as well as being a good marker for navigating back when you explore the small town by foot. "
